I had a look and that is definitely the case. I have a dremel handy so I'm happy to cut a cam or shave one back no drama.
Making some good progress on some of these engines I just say. Some I have here I got on terrible conditions.... Obviously left outdoors lots of rust etc but with a clean up and once I get to the fundamentals as to why they arnt starting it doesn't take long to work out. The most successful mod so far I have done is the bypass of the switch to shut engine. I think that along with this cam mod I could get most of them out of trouble.
Also Norm, how would I kmow if the botto bearing is gone? Wobbles? Noise? If I tilt the mower on the side and turn the cutting disc? Trying to revive a couple cammandos, in fact one of the cammandos I currently doing a ground up build to keep for myself. I shall start a thread shortly.
