I bought this mower off a chap but the carburettor is missing (actually it's in pieces and I don't think it's all there). I am going to buy a new carby for it but my googling is not giving me the carburettor part number. Would someone know which carby is the right one for this mower.
So far it looks like carburettor number Tecumseh 632671C might do but my engine isn't listed there (ULT50-500025B) as one of the suitable engines. Instead they have VLV55 as the engine, that's close but no cigar. The carburettor looks the same. The information spiel says it will replace these OEM numbers: OEM:632671 632671A 632671B 632671C 632614 .

Here's a couple of photo's. The mower had a Briggs and Stratton label on it and for a minute I thought I had been saved but no, it's a Tecumseh.

I can't find anything on the that exact spec but the specs very close to it usesTecumseh PN 632727. The closest IPL I found was for the Tecumseh ULT50-500031B. Maybe someone else can find or have the exact IPL.

Thanks AVB and welcome to my world of google frustration. You've given me something to work with. Also the carby has the code 1579H4T stamped on it.

But at least Google is better than most of the other search engines with a few exceptions.

I always end up coming back to Google.

Anyway, I ordered that carby (OEM:632671 632671A 632671B 632671C 632614) for Tecumseh engines VLV55 VLXL50 VLV40 VLV60 Engines . I was able to link a cross reference to ULT50-500031B at an ebay site that listed 632727 for the same engines and many others too. So, if that's right 632727, 632757 and 632671 are compatible. It was only about $17.00 so its no big deal if it isn't the right one. I'll post back here in a few weeks to let you know how it goes.

The new carby came to day. It came with 3 gaskets and a mounting plate all hermetically sealed in the packing. The carby looks the same but doesn't have the un-burnt gas return that the old one has. Difficult to line everything up and fit but eventually did OK. It now runs fine. The only bitch is that the primer circuit needs a bit of work. It will start OK but needs a few pulls to do so. Otherwise I am very happy with the repair.
