I have a number of catchers that I want to get rid of, I don't want to cut them up because somebody might want them. And I don't want anybody asking "is it still available" like the constant stream of numnutters on Gumtree. There is also a number of square Masport ones that would make great nesting boxes for chooks, but I don't have any chooks.

I cut up another 5 Masport catchers this afternoon, sad because they were in perfect condition and I can't even give them away for free on Gumtree. Next week I will cut up the ones pictured here, they just have to go.

You can stuff them with mower parts and they will keep them dry outdoors if you have them upside down.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Here's one I have for free also.
Don't know what is is, but if anyone wants it for a restore. Guess it would cost about $20 to send anywhere in Australia....

Hi Norm,

You don't happen to have a Honda catcher spare do you ?

Cheers,
BB.

Hi Norm,

Must admit with so many Honda's out there nowadays I'm surprised that there aren't more around. I totally get that Victa have the pointy end of the numbers game against Honda but still there are plenty Honda's out there and many have long since gone to lawnmower heaven.

Cheers,
BB.

Victor catchers from the steel decks are everywhere. You can guess why. It has to do with electrolysis.

Hi MF,

You don't have to say it so kindly, I'll use the "R" word instead for you.

"""RUST"""

Now I've gone and said it, Victa's are rust buckets, but only because their owners can't maintain them correctly.

Cheers,
BB.

BB even though there is a good number of Hondas out there the majority have bag catchers, I think it is only the push Honda ones that have a plastic catcher. The fact is with a genuine Honda mower, you pay for it and the average home owner has difficulty spending $1000 on a mower to just mow the lawn which to many is just a chore they HAVE to do

I got an even harsher one . ROT And Victas (particularly late models) are rot boxes!

MF but those ones all had thumb latch catchers that always ended up broken/cracked. By far the best Victas are like the one I sold yesterday, alloy body PT, no bolt handle issues ,no rust and there is a million catchers available for them

Yeah, they're probably the best compromise, but the thumb latch models have better flow of clippings into the larger capacity catcher. I have enough thumblatch catchers to get me by for my own use.
