Hi all I am on the hunt for a Scott Bonnar model 40 catcher! Yes I have come to realise parts are few and far between! Cheers Ollie

Ollie, my only suggestion is if you can draw up a copy of the catcher and take it to an air conditioning duct manufacturer they should be able to make one, They have lockseaming machines that can lock the corner edges together and those corners are nice and strong and they will make it out of galvanized sheet

HI NormK thanks for advice only I don’t have the original, is there any sort of diagram/pictures or the latch mechanism for the 40 all I can find is pictures of the mower with catcher on and there is 1 picture of a catcher floating around that is unclear?

Ollie, that is always going to be a problem but you would have to work out how you could mount it. As you know this is never going to be a sought after machine so you are not worried about it being a perfect reproduction, it will only have to do the job of catching the clippings. Problem then is whatever you spend on the catcher is only for your own benefit as it won't add any value to the machine

I do have a 45 catcher which I don’t think will be a problem mounting if I have to but would be good to see how an original fits! I like things to be right otherwise it’s just a hack job!!

Ollie, just something else to keep in mind from memory I believe a new aftermarket 45 catcher sells for around the $300, could even be $400 unpainted

I have already found a 45 catcher and I have got it to fit without any butchering what so ever which is good so I can atleast use the mower while trying to find a needle in a haystack!! Having fit this catcher I am assuming it is very similar to the original model 40 all bar the hinge/attachment, which I am assuming it just drops in to the slots.

Well the blade is a little on the rough side but is sharp as is the bed knife look as though never been ground! Just cut grass and done so with ease except my grass was prob a little on the long side!!
