Hi. I wanted to share the pics of the two edgers that I picked up in a package deal yesterday.

One is a Victa Tilt a Cut 80 series I believe and the other looks like it is one that was made and then had the Victa motor added to it. According to the owner they knew it as a Victa but I have seen some other pics here that suggest it could be a "withco". Both are going to need some work to get them back up and running. The tilt a cut in particular, needs a belt and the fuel tank is very loose etc. I hope the link to the pics work. Any insights, advice or tips that anyone can offer would be very welcome. Thanks smile

G'day shacl
Yep, a series 80 Tilt-a-Cut.

I would like to say something about the other edger....

It now appears that small engineering firms across Australia engaged
in lawn edger making. Lawn mowers had become too sophisticated by the 1960s.
But edgers were so doable!

Yours has a Victa Industrial Engine and it would date from the 1970s - best guess.
It is certainly a professional job - with the blade casting and all.

In many cases identification will remain problematic without other clues.

Cheers

Thanks Jack,
I was hoping to start doing some investigation this weekend, however given it's going to be 40c here in Adelaide, slaving away in the shed is not overly attractive at this point smile Sunday is supposed to be a bit cooler so might have a go then. Will see what other "identifiers" might pop up smile
