am checking an older GXV 160 mower I recently acquired...took off the valve cover and noticed that both rocker arms have a lot of free play - I'm thinking maybe 0.3" between the rocker arm and the top of the valve stem. So I am wondering if anyone can give me a figure to aim for...and do I check the gap with engine warm or cold?

Also...have seen many references to cleaning out the Honda carburettor...with references of how difficult the Emulsion Tube is to properly clean...I found that one of the Governor Linkage springs is ideal for this purpose...diameter is small enough to go through the Tube holes, the spring material is plenty strong enough to be useful for this purpose, and the length of the ends of the Governor Spring allow you to 'thread' the Spring through both sides of the Tube...pics to demonstrate...
