Hello to all ODK members,
Have got a Villager �badge� which has a fair bit of corrosion and rusted in screws
Would appreciate any ideas/advise on how best to clean this up.

Just hit it with a wire brush or wire wheel on a bench grinder.

Thanks for your comment, I was thinking can this be sealed to stop future corrosion

Phil once you have removed the screws, not sure if you have achieved that yet, once you have cleaned it up you can just spray it with a pressure pack clear. Is there any colour meant to be on the badge, if so do that before the clear

I would not use a steel wire brush on the Villager side of the badge as it will remove base material from the badge (gouging ,scratching)

Use a brass brush for cleaning the badge but sometimes the brushes that are listed as brass are brass plated steel so check
with a magnet if you have any doubts .

Brass wire is softer than steel wire or stainless steel wire, and offers a brushing action that will not scratch harder metals.Good for cleaning metal parts without removing any of the base material also good for Satin finishing aluminum extrusions or sheet.

I agree with Max. Steel wool is another option, will give it a nice shiny look.
