i have a victa special and i cant get a spark on the spark plug, nor the engine wont start. if something is wrong with the ignition what do you think could be wrong?

Hi dmitr, very hard to guess, could be any of, points,condenser,coil. You can try by fitting an ignition module to it and that will save you having to pull the flywheel off but if the coil is the problem you will then have to remove it

i adjusted the points and the timing. now the engine starts however it makes popping sounds what do you think this could be?

Most likely a carby problem, bit hard to guess. Exhaust port clear?

Ok so it is a carby problem, what air filter does it have, any chance we can see a pic of this machine so we have an idea of what we are dealing with?

yes, when i get home i will take aa photo this afternoon.

I found out the issue it with the old air filters. there was no paper filters in it an the mesh deteriorated allowing a lot of un filtered air into the carry. I put on a air filter as temporary. When i restore it, I will try and find the original filter for it. I will take some photos of it how it is now and when I finish restoring its I will also upload some more photos. I just wanted to get it working before I restore it so I am not messing with it with new paint ect.
