Hi,
I am in the process of some maintenance on my Supercut model 17.

My 2 belts that connect the 2 pulleys have snapped.

I have bought replacement belts, but i am very unsure how to replace them?

It seems i must take off the driveshaft from the end opposite to the clutch cone?
I have struggled all day to remove this, and was wondering if anyone had some tips?

I cant post pictures at the moment, but i am sure this shouldnt be too difficult a problem from the gurus on here

Cheers

Hello Basis
I'm not sure if that is the approach. I suspect removal of both sides of the Jackshaft are required
to slip new belts on. I'm sure this has been covered here...

The Blue Search Bar (Above) can reveal all sorts of helpful on-topic info.

Please let us know how you go.

Hope this helps.

I must be doing things so wrong.
I have attached a photo. The highlighted part, does that just unscrew?

Hello Basis
I see the problem and frustration now,
The Supercuts had so many variants! mad

Your machine has the pulleys on the far R.H. side.

I feel the answer must be in moving the jackshaft (countershaft) to the left and
this requires disassembly of both sides.

I can't find a parts book that covers this.
Is it a conventional RH collar that secures the RH bearing?
I think it must be.

I hope a member can help.
It may be that you will help other folk down the track.

Cheers Jack.
I will give that a try.

I have attached a couple of photos showing the whole shaft.

Cheers again

HI,
To change the belts you need to undo the crank handle spigot to undo put screw driver in holes and undo anti clockwise

Undo the tree bolts holding on the bearing housing, pull bearing housing out this will leave you enough room to pass the belts through
the bearing holder hole and over the shaft

hope this makes sense

Hi if you have trouble undoing the spigot put piece of wood in cutter to lock shaft then place screw driver in spigot hole and then use stilsons on spigot against screw driver and turn anti clockwise. See how you go
