Hi ODK members,

Picked this up today thanks to another collector, A Loukon mower. Engine is locked up but the base is in excellent condition, a strip and restore is in the wind for this rare gem.

Hi Paul
Very good images for provenance there.

These were a small NSW mower maker that made quality lawn mowers.

But they did something bold: as a small player, they ventured to make
a domestic self-propelled rotary as well!

It is highly likely they made Australia's first self-propelled domestic
rotary lawnmower. Amazing!

It is great that this one is saved.

Hi ODK Members,

Some good news on the Kirby engine fitted to my Loukon, it wasnt seized but just had a stuck flywheel due to mud cocoons.

Also another one has surfaced with what looks like a JAP engine fitted.

Hi Paul
Yes, those damn mud cocoons.
[This would be a great name for a heavy-metal band,
or, maybe, a North American banjo boy band grin]

There is evidence that Loukon did use the JAP (as described).
I say this because of the Ezy-Cut 2-stroke ...

Any ideas?

Hi CyberJack,

Very much the same bar the Ezy-Cut lettering. I offered up a set of Model 3 Victa bars to mine today to check the fit and they are identical.
