I could never work out how they ever expected these to be a good idea, not rocket science that they would have oiling issues

I have repaired at least 20 Tecumseh mowers, as long as the engine has compression they start first go every time.

How long do they stay on though? Until the fuel tank is empty?
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

G'day Max and all Totally agree. Tecumseh should be remembered as a respectable engine maker. These days, let down by lack of spare parts. I have fond memories of the two Kirby-Tecumsehs I owned - a VK30 and HK25 . Brilliant engines. -----------------------------------Jack

Interesting thread. But are the two-stroke Kirbys fairly easy to fix?
