Hi,
I managed to get this mower going but I would like to finish it off with the outer cover of the air filter. This model has a confounded ergonomic handle and the hose to the filter is larger in diameter. If I can't get the air filter cover I will change the entire hose and filter out for the standard one.

Victa certainly were adventurous in this period where they decided to try something different. I found one in a rubbish skip at the back of a mower shop and now wish I grabbed the entire machine instead of ripping off the carby only. I would love one of these in my personal collection now.

You're a bit far for me to post the mower to you.

I have my eyes out for one of those filter covers as well, but I'm not holding my breath waiting. Big hose is impressive even if it makes no difference

Yep. I'll give it a couple of days and then, if nothing comes up, I'll change it over to the normal hose and filter cover.

edit: I might try and see if I can reduce that big hose and just fit the smaller filter to it.

By the way, what's wrong with the time stamp on this forum?

Sad thing is I believe there was a filter cover on the machine I mentioned I found in a skip bin.
I recently found a regular filter control module with this thicker hose.

Good luck with that Sparker, i think you'll be getting the standard one out sooner than you think.

Me too. Changing the hose over is one thing but I know I'll break that Victa on/off switch like I always do.

I will probably dump the one I have here, it is in reasonable condition but without a long shaft motor for me to put on it, it is only taking up space. Keep the wheels but that is about it.

Too bad you're in Melbourne as there are another two Tornado Long shaft mowers at my recycle centre.

Lol stash it into the luggage bins of a Melbourne bound coach when the driver is distracted.

Well, as everyone here forecast, there were no covers on offer. The mod can close this thread....sniff.

I actually made a cover out of some roofing zinc/alum sheet. Did the job and mower sold.

Sorry. I have photos of the mower but they don't show the cover. I can show you the material I used if that helps. It is very malleable and easy to form.

Yeah please. It may come into play for others in a similar situation. Congrats for the ingenuity.

Here are a couple of photo's. It's not tin because it is quite soft. I think it's zinc. The next time I see my roofer son I will ask him what it is called. You can bend it with your hands, hammer it, drill it etc.
