Can anyone suggest where I find a replacement part CRO3412A? It is a Vacuum tube Seat, for where the vacuum tube clips onto the engine cowel. Many thanks, in anticipation.

G'day dince,
This part is long NLA through trade sources, so you'll have to find one from a donor engine. Might be worth a PM to member NormK on that score.

This part number [actually CR03412A] was 'common' to all full-crankshaft Victa 2-strokes from 1975 to ~ 1984; i.e. all of these engines fitted with the G4 or later LM model carbies.

The part I am seeking is CR03412A, in the top right hand corner of this photo. I cannot understand why the photo is upside down, but it can be rotated with the symbol in the bottom rh corner.

Hi Dince I think I know what it is, I usually throw them out but should be some kicking around here, if not there is mowers here I can grab one off.

NormK, here are some photos of my Victa project. I intend to use it, well, to be honest, I intend my wife to use it on a pocket hankerchief size dichondria lawn! Not quite finished, fuel tank has been plastic welded, yet to be tested, all painted parts have been sandblasted and rust treatment applied, followed by 3 coats of Killrust. Valves done, new head gasket, new plug, air cleaner, carby serviced. All that is missing is the noise!!!

Up there with the best mowers ever made but apart from the muffler why is it missing the noise? The plastic bit is in the mail but I think you are wasting your time fitting it, the one I sent you I pulled off a mower exactly the same as yours. If you can't get it started I would suggest you read up on the mods I listed up under LM/G4 carby modifications, this means the carby is guaranteed to work every time giving you full throttle control and you can adjust the idle speed to what you want

NormK, that is pleasing to hear that I inadvertantly chose a good model to work on! I don�t do that too often, apart from my tractors! The muffler is fine, it�s off getting cleaned up for a coat of heat resisant paint! I know it won�t last long, but is essential for the photo shoots! In fact, I didn�t even notice it missing! I am thinking positively that it will start - no reason for it not too. I will read up on your mods - they sound good! Have you had any experience with Cummins engines? LOL!!!

Hi David, my only Cummins experience is probably 20 years ago when we were fitting them to fire protection pumps and as they were brand new they always fired straight when we test ran them. Can't recall ever having to pull one out for a rebuild either. I had the heat exchanger let go on one that was screaming so hard I could see through the turbo it was glowing so much, but I sensed something wasn't right and I looked away as it let go and I got hit with boiling water across the side of my face and all over my back. Could have been much worse.

Nice job, Speedy! Very similar to mine, although my fuel tank sits over the engine cowl, with 4 philips head bolts that I am changing to hex serrated flange head bolts.

That�s a bit harsh, suggesting people do physical exertion, raking lawn clippings! LOL!!!

That colour makes it look like it's from the 1950s!!
I had that exact same mower. Wish I didn't give it away to a person down the street when I moved. You couldn't kill it with a stick.

Well, if we're showing off Victa 2 stroke utes, here's a few i've had my way over the last few years. I currently have 3 of them that are not pictured

Very noice, but like Speedy's one with Ridley Scott's "alien head" cowl best.

Bigted, mine is identical to the one above, middle row, left hand one - green with the black fuel tank. I guess, to keep up with the Jones et al, I�ll need a new decal!!!

I am amazed that so much interesting Show and Tell has evolved from a request for a small plastic washer-like seat, that NormK suggests I don�t need anyway!

I also have one here that I will get to repair at some stage and this one is a Powertorque base. I found it on hard rubbish, missing the motor and wheels but the base is in very good condition. I will get to it one day.
