Hi Norm, thanks for your concern.

We have lost virtually everything - house, shed, sheep. Everything is cinders and we couldnt afford the yearly insurance fees

It is going to take a while to get over the shock.

The fire was pushed along and lit spot fires ahead that exploded into 5 acre patches & joined in seconds.

We were going to bed & just made it out in time.

Always hate to hear bad things like this. It is not just the people that suffer thru things like, it also all the wildlife and farm animals.

Glad you and your family is safe though it will be rough recovering the other losses. It always seems to be those barely making it that always get hit the worse. Here I barely can make the 1200 usd yearly insurance payment myself too. Here is the tornadoes that is the biggest problem and we are just entering our main tornado season here.

Yet our head nut in Washington DC don't believe that global warning has anything to do with our weather; actually he don't even believe that global warming is real.

LRT, so sorry to hear this, at least you got out ok, let us know if we can help. Just on the news the fire is still out of control in that area.

Thank you everyone. Theres just too many messages to reply to at the moment. Tomorrow we will be flat out sending the remaining sheep to the abattoirs & burying the rest. Probably the hardest job of all as it wouldve been a terrible death.

Hi LRT and all
This is so sad.

There tends to be a resilience in land folk above city folk, like myself.
But that is a generalisation.

In any case, all the best at this most difficult time.

Hi Norm,

I have sent you a PM on another topic. Just in case you had not noticed.

LRT,

I couldn't even fathom what you must be going through, I can totally understand your wife's point as I couldn't do it again a second time yet a third like in your case.

As Jack suggested above the resilience of country folk is way above us city dwellers, something that you are to be commended for.

All the very best on behalf of the whole "Outdoorking Community and myself.

BB.

I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
