hi all
im still looking for a carby for the qualcast p2 i picked up
theres one on ebay but im not sure if its the right one
would anyone have some photos of the right one so i don,t waste my money

Hello Tubes

There is no shortage of P2 Villiers on this site.
The caution - I would think - is that this is a Villiers Junior carby
for the G series (70cc), rather than the Midget (98cc) engines.
They look similar but jetting must have been different.

Any help welcome.

i did see the pics but still not quite sure if the one ebay is the same
i might get it anyway even though it looks like one bit is missing
i dont know if its a 70cc or 98cc
is there an easy way to pick the difference

I am no Villiers carby expert.
I wish I had an answer.

There is an easy trick I have learnt - provided we have cylinder evidence...
70cc engines have cylinder cooling fins at 90 degree around the spark plug.
98cc engines do not.

Please keep us informed as to progress.
I feel you are assisting folks in a similar situation.

Hi All,

With the junior carburettor the jet and centre piece is usually marked with a code. 98cc Midget Mk 2 is usually marked M7J and Mk 3 is usually marked M8J. Atco Villiers normally used the M7J. Not sure if anyone has the manual and parts book for the G series as this should detail the jet and centre piece code.

as i dont have the carby i can,t use that method
just going to buy the one on ebay and see what happens
