Hello ODK History Lovers
The great Victa advertising Campaign 'Go with the Champion' was introduced
for the 1966 Victas.

It was an early example of brilliant marketing juxtaposition: combining not-glamorous
'lawnmowing' with glamorous sport 'champions'. Everyone loves a winner!

The analogy was appropriate; because Victa was the No. 1 Lawnmower maker
in Australia at this time. They had a winning formula that made them the champion:
innovative designs, brilliant marketing, and superb after-sales dealer support,
service and spares.

I present here a Victa 1966 4-stroke Mower Manual that covered Victa's 4-stroke
rear-catcher machines for 1966
- the triple Cs ...

The Victa Commander, Corvette and Cortina.

Note the symbolic blue ribbon, gold medal complete with the ancient wreath,
and the older Victa logo (with the mower stripes through the name).

The newer (and still current) Victa logo would be introduced in late 1966 for the 1967 year.

PART TWO - The Models
The Victa Commander was first introduced as the Commander Super 4 for the
1963-64 season. It was not self-propelled. The Commander Self-Propelled was
Victa's first self-propelled lawnmower, introduced for the 1964-65 season.

The Victa Corvette was introduced as a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke for the
1963-64 season. An all-new base (as shown below) was introduced for the
1964-65 season. The Corvette would remain Victa's flagship for the 1960s.

The Victa Cortina was introduced as a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke for the
1964-65 season.

The 4-stroke lawnmower was introduced to Australia in the late 1950s by Turner, and
the 4-stroke was an immediate success; so much so, that every lawnmower maker
had to offer 4-strokes. The biggest player, Victa, was no exception.

PART THREE - The Operator Manual
This manual s from my collection and it is in good but not mint condition.
[there is an oil stain on the back cover].

The manual reflects a time when manuals were comprehensive and gave
owners adjustment and repair instructions in some detail. It is a rewarding
manual to study in detail.

As always, this manual is made available to members for personal use.
I have split the document into two parts for easier downloading.
