Hi All,

Can anyone tell me why the Husqvarna TS 138 is so damn cheap in comparison to all other on the market? Brother in law has got one, I've used it and it's flawless. Another mate has had one for 3 years and says he has had absolutely no issues with it.

Cheers,
Dave

I'm guessing it is made in the land of sweet and sour pork.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Well the transmission is made in either China or Mexico. Be aware that you will not able to get any of the transmission's internal parts, the manufacture only has external parts available.

I don't know if has the General Transmissions RT800 of the RT400 but suspect it will be the RT400 which is the cheaper of the two. Lots of plastic parts including the housing. Definitely not built for rough or hilly terrain.

Cheap machine typical of todays way of life, massive production, buy cheap, can't be repaired economically (not much can these days) use it till it falls to bits then dump it and get another one.

Must admit, that after 2 weeks of use my brother in law had to get a new trans put in - Dealer did it for nothing, though.

Hope my old Greenfield Tractor 11 can be fixed then so I don't have to entertain the idea of buying one of these :P
