Hi. Decided that if I could slacken the 30mm nut/bolt holding on the cone, I would order from Bruce and do the job myself. Having trouble deciding if the bolt unscrews clockwise or anti-clockwise. Have given bolt some release oil but can get no movement. Any help? Thanks.

It is a standard right hand thread - be aware the lower pulley is threaded and needs to be held securely to loosen the 30mm bolt. it should be torqued to at least 90 Nm when reassembling.
From personal experience - I have found some EXTREMELY tight - 4 foot pile extension on breaker bar tight!
Good luck
Ps- Take note of how it all comes apart - pulleys, and spring washer should be assembled correctly for alignment.

Take Two : Forgot to say - check condition of the steel drive plates - they must be smooth and even with no "track" marks or grooves....

Hi. Yes it is bloody tight. Will need to get my Son for some extra muscle. My socket set only goes up to 20mm. Forgot about my old AF set. A, one and an eighth inch fits perfectly.
Plates are smooth but shiney. Should they be 'roughed up'?
Many thanks DB.
