A friends two mowers were down.............. She was thinking she needed a new mower as up here in Bundy the grass grows........... I checked out the Yardman, nice fairly new, water in the fuel....... tank and carby. Give it an oil change and sharpen bladed. I asked her to look for a round black belt in the yard somewhere that ran the self drive......... That worked well.................... saw her later ........... the mower is had it again............. and I took home her not so old Rockwell as it was stuffed as well.......................................... Thw Yardman has more water in carb and fuel tank............ now good. The Rockwell had water in carb, crud in main jet. Cleaned it out. It runs sort of sweet. It's a quiet little toy...... Took them back to her, and said. Where is your fuel can, and we empied it into a bowl.................... a cup of yellow water in the bottom........... She learned a good lesson, I might get a few beers, but it doesn't matter.... My tip When I empty a fuel tank, I like to tip it into a big clean glass picked cucumber jar , just to see what was in there...... She was shutting down every machine she refueled............................................................... not funny cheers speedy

Here I have used glass before but tend to shatter if dropped. especially when I trip over my own big feet.

What I am using a translucent plastic container for this purpose. I actually got a constant supply of these from a neighbor that has cats as they what he gets cat litter in. I also use the containers to store used oil to carry to the recycle center later. They hold about 2.5 US gallons.

Yes I see a lot water in fuel here since I am in area that supplies E10 & E15 fuels. This Ethanol fuel blends will absorb moisture directly from the air then settle out as the ethanol and water combines especially in unsealed containers.

Speedy did you ask her if she has bought ethanol fuel, you must stay away from ethanol fuel in any motor that is not used at least weekly and even then it is risky, best avoided at all costs

Everything I work on here as the 10% Ethanol blend is the most common fuel around here. Even my 2000 Chevy Silverado S1500 Pickup. For the 2 cycles my premium fuel oil has the stabilizer already in it so they can up to a year or more without problems.

Briggs, Kohler, Kawasaki, Subaru, LCT and others.
