Hello Someguy and Max

The engine appears to be a more modern replacement.
The problem with this chassis is that it was used for such a long time,
spanning the 1960s and 1970s.

The design started life as a mainstream domestic lawnmower, but
ultimately became a specialised 'utility' lawnmower.

It was used with many engine variants, 2-stroke and 4-stroke.
I have records for Kirby, Tecumseh, Villiers and Briggs engines.
I do not have records for your one.

The engine on yours is, I think, a more modern Tecumseh Honda , never
used on this chassis. This is not certain because ...

The other point I make is this.
As Max said, this is Supa-Swift ... but - I add - with a twist.
The lack of that name cast in the base indicates that this was probably
a store brand. Supa-swift marketed this machine under their own name
and also as a 'Tudor'. At some point, the base would appear without a cast branding name.
I suspect this is one of those - sold as a store brand.

Have a look at this brochure:-

Hope this helps.

G'day Jack and Someguy, Supa-Swift also used Honda motors in the late 1970's- early 1980's,Someguy has the Honda on his mower.I don't think the
last of the alloy base utility had SupaSwift cast on the base ,the mowers just had a SupaSwift sticker. This base is different compared with earlier
SupaSwift bases this one has the rear axle under the base while the other previous bases have the rear axle on the outside of the base.I would think
later on some mower manufacturers stopped casting names on bases because it was cheaper making a base with less alloy and using a sticker .

Cheers Max.

Just looking at the SupaSwift catalogue Jack posted ,the Two bases were made at the same time ,the one with the rear axle under the mower is the Special and the other is the Deluxe.
Both mowers were made with or without a cast branding name .

As Jack stated before the mowers with the Supa-Swift sticker were used as store brand mowers and I think the last of the Supa-Swift Utility sold with a sticker.

G'day Someguy
Yes, Max would have to be the authority on these models.
I certainly learnt a few things, thanks to Max's research.

I do have some 2013 auction images that may explain this ...

Hope this helps.

G'day all
This topic will be moved shortly.

As it is related to garden products, it is not an Off Topic.
