I have a gear drive Shanks Caledonia that has been in the family since new and was wondering if anyone knows of their history in Australia. Are they common?
I can't remember the size and it is at the very back of the shed behind a lot of heavy objects so I can't photograph it at present.
G'day LRT Shanks were one of the great 3 British makes: Ransomes, Shanks, Greens. Shanks is such an amazing and fascinating company - with a long history in OZ.
I have done a lot of research on Shanks in Australia. I will push the Caledonia forward on the list of records to cover. The record should be ready 'shortly ...

This is going to be an interesting record of particular relevance to me.
It is in all original condition with the catcher and was rescued from the scrap bin when my great-great aunts place was sold back in the mid 2000's IIRC.
