I would love one to retrofit to my VC-160 Auto Drive. I know only the mark 1 came with impact starter, but can recall seeing later ones with it fitted by the owner and they looked great! have you got the matching cup with the teeth inside and the associated washers?
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi - apologies - key to storage was lost by landlord and lock changed......but no new key supplied! As I recall it was a last 60's , early 70's low arch Victa with a full crank engine with a Zip start on top and a plastic carb.... Hope this helps...!
Thanks

Thanks The G4 carburetor, snorkel and throttle system came out for the 1976 season onwards. Yours could be a bitsa. Victa continued selling mowers with the 1960s designed low arch bases throughout the 1970s and possibly into the early 80s, for store brands and entry level models.

Hi, looks good - is it a straight swop for a Zip starter, or do I need a new cup or anything else for it to work properly?

Yep, the cup is very different to the Zip Starter one, as MF mentions above. Victa P/No ST12185A is the OEM part - NLA, unfortunately. They do come up on FleaBay, sometimes under aftermarket [Bynorm/GA Spares] part numbers. There are also 4 spacer washers [#20] and the 4 short mounting bolts [#17] shown in the parts list in this post; https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...re-victa-vc-160-questions.html#Post55175
