Dragged the 20" supercut out with a villiers mk12 engine. Now compression on this is bloody impossible to crank with the hand starter. Is there an issue im overlooking?
Pulled the spark plug and turns of easily. Drill doesnt have enough guts to crank it over.

Hi Millzy,
It should be easy enough to crank over using the standard Crank Handle supplied with the machine.
I feel that you may have a stuck valve in the Villiers, thus it's not allowing it to breath as it should.
You should be able to take the plug out and bend a piece of wire at 90 degrees to poke towards the valves and feel if they are opperating as they should. You'll probably require a second operator to perform this accurately.
Cheers, BB.

Hi Millzy,
Amazing what a bit of corrosion can do to tighten things up.
Cheers, BB.

I thought i posted a reply...i got this sorted yesterday. Pulled the head and found the valves working as per normal, cyclinder wall is unmarked so very happy. In the end i swapped out the spark plug for a new one and what do you know....cranks over with the hand starter and fired straight away!!!

Am I correct in saying that an incorrect plug with a longer reach was fitted thus clashing with the piston on the up stroke travel ?, thus why it cranked with the plug removed but not when it was installed ?
Cheers, BB.
