I found a Rover Two like that several months ago and haven't been able to get it to start. Recently I found a catcher with no brand on it which turned out to fit it. Now if only I could get it going...
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

The Suzukis are a great motor, but they have a carby with a lot of small passages in it. And owners will use the cheapest grade of petrol, with high gum forming tendencies.
This isn't a good combo, when a mower usually sits through the winter with old fuel left in it. The solution is to do a very thorough de-gum of the carby, but it's a pretty fiddly job.
Cheers, Gadge

My local tip shop was very light on with mowers this week. Just a few Rovers about 70s-80s era and a broken starter and a few bits and pieces. One mower looked a bit like the one in Gadge's bottom photo. I haven't seen anything really old or rare at our tip for ages. Mind you I am not an early bird and I'm sure there are people who visit early on the Thursday morning as soon as the shop opens and grab anything that is good. I suspect a lot of the really rare stuff never makes it to the shop and gets snapped up as soon as it gets dropped off in the salvage section. Still kicking myself for not purchasing the Southern Cross model with cursive writing on the front that I spotted there a few years back.
