Dear All,
I am new to the forum. I found this thread on the net while looking for the spring governor diagram for a B&S 98902 engine.
To be precise I have a 98902-0326-01 Code 94010603. Looking at the diagram at
https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...-2772-4902-bs_98_9b_governor_springs.jpg my model is the one of Fig.96.
That said, I have the problem that once the engine starts, I don't have control at all of the revs. It seems that, not having the "idle spring", the engine revs turns to max and moving the throttle leverage produce little/no effect. In
addition to this, I think this is due to the bad condition of the governor spring.
Then, looking for a new governor spring, I bumped into the briggs&stratton parts manual which states that the correct replacement is part number 262760 (as my engine is manufactured before 1996). My doubt is that this item is for the 2 spring version, as in this manual there is no mention to a single spring engine version explicitly.
Can you please help me on this? Does anybody of you own this version of the engine?
Thanks to all in advance, and sorry for my poor English.
Cheers,
Giovanni
edit: added pic of the carburetor and spring (I know it is mounted in a reverse position, it was one of the many attempts to let it work
