Hi, on Saturday I picked up a vintage Rower lawn mower and a Shinwa brush cutter from a deceased estate.
The Rover needs a flywheel cover and I have the feeling it has little compression. The whipper snipper doesn't have the cutting head and it starts when I pour some petrol in the cylinder. The carby looks clean, but I don't know where to source a new set of gaskets.
I'm happy to give them away for free for parts.
Pick-up either from Revesby or Taren Point, NSW.

Struth! That's the most vintage looking brush cutter I've ever seen. Not a plastic shroud in sight!!

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

That's right, all solid metal!
If nobody wants it, I'll give it another try. I'm just getting lazy and I don't want to make all gaskets from scratch..
Here is another pic with the model number

The Datsun 180b of brush cutters. Old reliable and Japan made!

The 180b I remember a lifetime ago I had an HQ Holden as a company car and they wanted to update it, I was given a 180b to try for a week, after a couple of days I asked for the HQ back. A couple of weeks later they replaced the HQ with an XB Falcon. Overall I think the HQ was a smidge better than the Ford but all very irrelevant these days

HQ had terrible handling thanks to a former head of Cadillac tuning the suspension.
The 1977 HZ merely corrected this blunder to make the Kingswood handle ok.
Never liked the XB. Much prefer the extremely masculine looking XC. Caught them as cabs many a time as a kid.
