So picked up this tiller from an old boy (in the UK), Briggs engine was poorly but we got it going (stuck fuel pickup pipe)

The belt was off the unit when I picked it up and the clutch pulley was hanging loose. The clutch cable has seen better days and most likely isn't the original.

I think the old boy ran the blades engaged all the time as the pulley is tight all the time.

First question. Anyone know the make and model? and Second do you think I have the belt correct. I cant see that it goes any other way TBH.

Yep, the 5000-105 variant, I'd say, going by this pic of the cover of the Instructions;

Pic pinched from eBay UK. This booklet is currently for sale there; it's probably worth buying it, @ 4.99 posted.

Yep. Looks right. Well done.

There's someone selling a belt on ebay for 15quid. I suppose I need to way up the hassle of going around the local partco company's or just buying it there.

I think the clutch will have to be a modded bike cable.

I will run it engaged this weekend just to at least get some of the allotment cleared. I'm way behind from my old tiller expiring in Feb.

Cheers

Well, as far as the cable goes, there are components available via the vintage motorbike scene to make up control cables, and it isn't rocket surgery to do so.

Hello Timguyuk and Gadge

The problem with Norlett is knowing whether they made this tiller.
They seem to have been a marketing company, re-branding local and
imported products for UK consumption under their name.

It may be this was an imported USA tiller?
Who knows?
