The Webb is pretty rough but it was seized with rust when I got it and its fun watching the Grand Kids trying to mow the back lawn with it. Have no idea of its age. The Alroh was in a box with the frame in bits, using a photo on OutdoorKing I managed to assemble it and found that every bit including bolts, nuts and washer were there. The motor started second pull with a new plug. I have given it a de-rust and a coat of paint in a near match to original The motor code indicates that it is 9th month 1969 so I guess it would be about 1970 manufacture making it 47 years old, yet my local mower shop still had a blade and bolt set for it at $15.00 I paid $10.00 for both at a demolition yard
G'day exfarmer That's a great story, and they have many years of life in them.
I think that Webb is a 12 inch - making it a Webb Wasp (6 blade reel?). The handle design indicates this is a post-war design. They sold here from about 1947. So c1940 or c1950s. The handle design changed in the 1960s.
Hi Jack Thanks for that info have printed out the manual for my file and ordered a decal to dress the old girl up. I was showing the manual to my 8 year old grandson today. His question - Didn't they make mowers with engines in those old days? Thanks again more knowledge to store.
