Hi. 5hp B&S powering an old Victa rotary tiller. Gave up the ghost quite some years ago having seemed to have seized(fixed???). Needed a new
armature. Bought an after market one and it has a braided wire of short length - where the hell does it go?
There was a wire from the throttle linkage for the STOP position which I seem to have lost. Does this go to the hole in the condenser along with the insulated wire from the armature? Bought a new tiller when this old powerhouse packed up and my memory has dimmed over time. Thought I would get it going and give to my son-in-law.
Many thanks for any assistance. Regards.

Can we get the part number of the AM part you brought where we might look it up. A '79 isn't too old. Personally I would be install an new Magnetron coil instead going with the old point system but that's just my opinion.

And answer throttle wire question yes it in the condense as you describe; unless, you gone with the Magnetron which just connect to its kill terminal clip the wires the to the points.

Hi AVB and thanks. Have been away. Have connected the braided loop to one of the armature retaining screws and sealed the cover back on. Will assemble the rest tomorrow and give it a try. However I have another problem - oil is leaking from the gear box. I can find nothing on the web for oil seals - Parts from the Victa manual - 'Oil seal 0.75 inch diam shaft TM64053A x 1 and Oil seal double lip 1.0 inch diam shaft TM64056A x 2'. Are these standard oil seals which I should be able to purchase locally? I put a new gear box on more than 20 years ago and it cost me more than the tiller new! Better add Victa tiller 355 series 9 Gear case assembly TM64073A. Cheers.
