Browsing over gum-tree today and found this mower.
I thought to myself what on earth would it called?
I mean a Masport base a Victa 2 stroke power-torque engine and a Talon catcher.
Must be a very rare mower indeed. One of as kind.
Could be yours for the bargain price of $110.
Have you guys seen any other weird types of mower like these?
I'd love to see some others.

It is a good combination, alloy base and these mowers fitted with Briggs motors never get to wear the wheels out, unlike the 2 stroke Victas. Not sure how well the catcher would fit and stay on, thinking about it the Talon may fit the Masport base. The Powertorque is cocked off on a bit of an angle and I would like to know how they got the head to clear the front wheel adjuster bar

Not only that but did they cut a hole in the base for the muffler to poke out down the bottom or just bent it over?

Hahahaha who is going to want a mower with a crooked 2 stroke motor?

I think the exhaust simply shoots against the base if the discolouration on the base near the exhaust means anything.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hello squizzy yes I thinking the cutting disc might be a bit high, but if the engine came from a 19 inch cut base it would have a longer crank but I'm not sure if it would still be long enough.
Yes Mowerfreak I'm getting more and curious about it.I'm just wondering if I took a trip down there just to check it out.I certainly don't want it.Just curious to see what the heck was done to it.

Here's another Victa 2 stroke power torque creation. A 909 base that has a power torque fitted, also creative. Been for sale on feebay for a while at $69. Not looking as flash as the Masport creation though. Says that it runs. Though hose is not connected to filter.

Be a bit hard to steer that second one with the front wheel bent right out like that.

I have a feeling that mower has an engine it doesn't deserve.
Like putting a Chevy V8 into a Lada.

OK, a Bugatti W18 into a Lada hatchback.
Their 4wds were pretty good.

The handling characteristics would be downright scary, though!

Back in the day, I did do a 350 Chev/TH400 auto conversion to a Landcruiser FJ45 trayback. Fun toy, that one - on normal dirt roads without much load aboard, you steered it around corners as much with the throttle as the steering wheel. cool

A car enthusiast mate once described it as 'deceptively quick'. grin
It still looked stock, apart from the 'bow tie' Chev badge on the radiator grille...

Cheers,
Gadge

The only problem Captrusty you didn't put the Victa name in there.
So maybe Masvictalon. Hey I like that although I ended up getting all of the Victa and talon in there.
