I would have thought it would have been closer to 130+ but not compression gauges read the same as I have found out here.

Also once started the active compression will be quite a bit higher than the static compression.

Thanks AVB, what I find is usually these things are flogged to death before people want them fixed and they expect you can wave a magic wand over them and they will work like new. I admire your patience when you were starting out on them, that is my frustration with them, I can spend many hours and in the end not achieve much. I still hate them

G'day Norm,
I don't do work on other people's machines as a rule, but if I did, I'd refuse outright to touch trimmers that aren't both of:
1. Straight shaft;
2. A 'name' OPE brand - i.e. one that has commercial/contractor duty units in their product range. Echo, Shindaiwa, Stihl, Husqvarna, for example. These ones will at least have a decent design life, in the 2000hr+ range.

I recall that was Echo's standard chainsaw design life back in the 1970s, when the 'domestic' 12" bar 'pruner' saws then coming on to the Oz market had a design life of only 30 hrs!

Basically, by the time these units had worn out a chain, the bar [no Stellite noses on these cheapos] would be stuffed as well; and a quality bar, chain and clutch drum/sprocket would cost more than the saw's new price.

Cheers,
Gadge

Hi Jack, next item I can wait up to 6 weeks for. The longest delivery time was 9 months for a pair of LED tail lights. Trailer had been finished and gone for over 6 months. Anyway the carbs arrived this morning, I put one straight on a whipper and it now runs just as it should so another happy day for me, but then it doesn't take too much these days to make me happy yay
Apart from that I got a Talon that I swapped a Briggs pullstart and carby onto it up and running and another Powertorque up an running as well and it is only 3.30pm. Might go and modify the Tilta-cut carb and get that running before it gets dark

And it can take 3 months if you send a package to Australia with the wrong postal code. How do I know you ask?

A package I sent Trev somehow I got the postal code wrong and it took this long for someone to straighten it out. It only showed up after I started a trace on it. All I can say is at least there was only minor damage to the box unlike some I get here that looks like someone jumped up and down on them. I even got one that had tire marks on it once.

I still really don't how I got 3880 instead of the 2830, I think I got it from the Paypal or Google system as Trev gave me the correct code.
