Hello members, this is my HD10 greenfield. The mower has had a complete mechanical rebuild replacing almost all of the bearings. The spindles were polished as well as the steering column and both were greased. The oil was replaced and the cutter clutch was resurfaced on a lathe as well as a new starting solenoid as the old one was shot.

The air filter was missing so an oil bath air filter has been fitted until an original one is sourced. I rebuilt the carb as the engine wouldn't idle and was surging. We found a badly damaged jet which was replaced as well and new gaskets were made, now the mower runs well.

The mower has areas that have been repainted as a few of the decals were covered in masking tape but have been cleaned up now also a dozer blade was mounted on the front at one point.

G'day Greenfielder and gml,

Oooohhhhh, this is the machine that was on bumtree a while ago with the hideous air filter mounted on the back and a flex tube and masking tape to the engine?! Looks so much better now!

How long have you had it?

gml, this is the machine I was going to send photos of in relation to the electric start on your mate's machine

V happy it's found a good home!

Cheers,

gml, note the cutout in the side of the cowl that we were discussing in the other thread. its visible thro' the grille. Apologies for not sending the photo to the other thread as promised. And of course the lever and cutout are clearly visible in greenfielders. Photos above

Please tell us more greenfielder.

cheers,

Evening Greg,

Apart from your mates machine and this one I've not seen any other HD10's. I wonder how rare they are?

Yup, could be gml, could be.

Greenfielder, can we get you to give us the engine model, type and code? Also, there will be a frame serial number stamped on the top of the frame longeron at the engine end on the RH side. Can you share that too please? Just trying to get an idea of year/age.

Cheers all,

Hi Guys i dont have the engine numbers at home but the motor is dated 1974, currently the deck is being worked on by my father because the blade carrier had a few cracks.

I would also be interested in another machine either complete or for parts.

Morning Greenfielder,

1974 is about right, I guess. Depending when in '74 it was built and assuming up to 12 months for delivery and storage etc., it puts the machine as a '75 build (?) which seems about right for that style?

It's been my experience that parts mules are hard to come by WRT HD8's in that most of the machines I see for sale are still too good condition wise to be parted out smile

Is there anything in particular that your chasing?

Yeah I understand, not looking for anything in particular however i would be interested in a engine or a deck perhaps, seeing as mine is chipped.
