I picked up this super swift falcon 2 two stroke mower today. I'm not really interested in two strokes but this one seemed unusual in relation to its motor, the wind up starter, and the handle adjuster mechanism. I am unsure of the motor manufacturer. The engine has a stamp on the block with numbers stamped over each other.

The handle angle is multi position via a mechanism between the handle bars , simply pull to break the lock and move the handle to a new angle. The height adjuster appears to have a lock mechanism. The air filter is metal and very rusted. The mower is very dirty , and is from a farm property clean up. Any advice on the motor manufacturer?

Bloody hell, that one has certainly 'been rode hard and put away wet', as the [derogatory, towards the rider] equine saying goes.

The handle adjustment mechanism is a high-quality version [i.e. die cast alloy, rather than plastic] of a design that is still used; e.g. on upper-grade Masport models IIRC. My everyday mower, a 2001ish Masport Maxicatch 550, has it.

The engine is a Villiers Torque Major 2-stroke; I'll have to defer to the more knowledgeable to pin it down in detail.

My best guess is mid-1960s.

The alloy, segmented handle brackets are typical Supa-Swift.
[Much better than the Victa-Pace plastic jobs]

That is the oldest Supa Swift I have ever seen and it is a two stroke!!
They are quality machines, but parts are not as ubiquitous as Victa.

It is worth doing a site search of 'Supa Swift'.
Their early machines date from the late 1950s.

They were one of the earliest users of grass catchers for rotaries.
As they were expert founders (casting) they privately made bases for
well-known mower brands (as well as their own).

A good find.

And to think I viewed them as a Johnny come lately brand! Ignorance is not always bliss.
I threw away a nice circa 1980s one I found due to moving.
It had the same Briggy motor as my red Victa Mustang key start. The SS wasn't key start.
