g'day member's,today i had a look at the HD 10 electric at first i thought someone had swapped engine's no big deal!then i noticed the decal that read electric,b&s with electric start,is this factory?Paul,Jack,Gadge.Norm,anyone? notice cutout for cutter engage lever..

If it says electric then I guess it is factory? I've got photos of a HD10 that was on Gumbay a while back and I can just make out the cut out. The photos don't show the RH side of the machine but its visible through the grille.

That lever's a bit bent too

hi prd, no haven't bought it, sorry for the bad pics but it was in a tight spot and couldn't get to it,the owner invited me over to view his collection,he has the nicest old blue rancher i have ever seen.he is the guy i got the old red one from,nice guy.the lever has been bent to clear the starter motor,it runs and cuts!it has the wide wheels and motor say's 1974,so much to learn about the old one's,cheer's

Wow! That does look like a factory installation, to me.

If you can get another look at this one, see if you can get a pic of the full 'magic numbers' of the engine - they'll be on the top cowl, near the spark plug. 1974 would have been just before the 'Tractor x' series came out...
