Wow sounds like your a busy man.I just keep my interest to my mowers my family and my dogs. With my mowers I mostly Victa's but I do like my Scott Bonnar rotary's as well.Like to have some pinball and arcade machines but they are a little too pricey for me.Also defiantly don't have the room for them.

Morning all,

I have a wife and two daughters! One of the daughters has horses. So the arrangement is that the females in my life have interests and I try to figure out how we afford them.

Seriously though folks, just bought a Morris minor 'toy' -already restored, but should be fun, becoming a keener gardener (veg.), have a growing number of restoration projects including an Austin van that I started back in the nineties but never finished due kids, like to read on a number of subjects with history being a biggie. Just finished Perrys biography of Monash. Interesting bloke.

Off to google luderick fishing.

Cheers,

Hello all

I also have a wife and 2 kids. 1 boy (almost 4) and a girl (just turned 1). Due to the young kids I've not been able to get out as much as I would have pre-kids so I have developed an enjoyment of my backyard and in particular, my lawn, which is what brought me here in the first place. Since then I seen to spend countless hours researching various walk behind cylinder mowers around the world (my current obsession is the Japanese "Baroness" mower. Seems to have been getting rave reviews the last 5 years in the Golfing industry and constantly coming up favourably against the Toro and John Deere greens mowers) and different types of lawn varieties (particularly the ones that can be mowed low).

I am a massive Adelaide Crows (AFL) fan and a Juventus (Soccer) fan. I also enjoy Australian Ford cars and began restoring a 1969 XT Falcon but never finished. I grew up just out of Adelaide on my parents market garden, and after 11 or so years in the SA Public sector I went back to work on the farm. We grow Potatoes, Carrots and Parsnips.

I've got vintage cars and about 20 or more vintage stationary Hit Miss engines I'm slowly restoring. They take up a lot of my spare time.

G'day Adam and welcome. I'd love to get a hit and miss or two. Maybe one day. What sort of vintage cars interest you and seems we're all here tell us about your mower(s)?

Hi Mate I've got a 1921 model t Ford, a 1924 dodge and a 1929 chev. I've also got a victa 18 special and a model 2 rotomo. I've also recently picked up a whirlwind mower. Pictures of that were posted on this forum a while again but I can seem to find them anymore.

That is quite an impressive inventory! I've got a dirty old Valiant and a rack of broken Victas. I'm sure many of us would love to see a pic or two of your toys.

I'm happy to post some pics if people are interested. But I've tried posting pics before and I can't seem to get them to work.

I like playing with my old cars mainly ke series corollas which I am beginning to sell up on to buy myself a moke, the first car I drove. Amongst the juskyard though there's a old valiant wagon, an r33 skyline a torana and a couple of old motorbikes.

Its starting to get expensive though. A Golden Fleece 1 gallon can went for $2605 the other night on eBay.

Try this on for size. I have been interested in buses all my life and know all the makes and models of chassis as well as the bus body builders in Australia. I also have quite a collection of 1;76 scale buses as well as a giant 1;24 scale iconic London red rear platform decker.
I am a car nut as well and know most cars by sight, including the modern shapes.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
