Hi all, I am wondering about changing the carby on my rotomo model 2 back to the circlip carby from the standard carby as I am displaying it very soon and I just wanted to get your opinion on wether I should have it running with the standard carb or static with the circlip carby?

Well I guess that really depends on you.Do you want to know yourself that without any work to be done you can take it off display and run it?
Or are you just happy to know it was as it was when it was new?
Most of my display mowers run,but I do that so at least it keeps them with fresh oil in them.
I have a model 5 coffee table and I know that if I put a cutting disc on it it would run again.
So what I'm saying is,it really is up to you and what your happy with. After all it's your display.
I know that doesn't answer your question but in some way I hope that helps.

The best bloke to answer this question is Kye. He's the toe cutter guru. Hopefully he pops in and say's hello

I reckon I'll just leave it as it is as I'm getting it restored anyway, but a compromise is have it running one day, static the other. Still, as I got it for 150 bucks with the original sad face badge and a complete spare engine from a model 5 Victa- minus the carby and flywheel etc. still a brilliant buy 4 a 150 bucks!!!

Hi Totallyramdomvic, from what I know about the carbies, both will run no problem on the Victa Rotomo, there may be a couple benefits from using the Victa special carby instead of the Rotomo Clip carby but it really doesn't matter.
The only problem is if you use the earlier Victa Brass Nut Carby, which was known to heat off and fall off (or something along those lines) but even then if your only running it for a short amount of time for fun it doesn't really matter.
Thanks for recommending me Chris86 smile Very happy to help!

Yeah, I wouldn't be running it for to long anyway as it is a non fan rotomo and I don't want to risk damaging the motor in any way as it is the original engine with the serial number in the 99000s anyway.

Yeah Rotomo's are better as a display mower in my opinion, with occasional running. Victa Specials are good when you want to mow your lawn like they would have in the 50s, have the toe butter feel but you don't have to be scared about things braking.

Yeah, I love my rotomo and I don't want to risk braking anything as they cost u a fortune in parts if u break multiple things
