I have a Poulan 16" chain saw. After each use, the chain oil continues to leak onto the chain and bar, until the oil reservoir is empty. This leaves a puddle of oil during each storage. Is this normal? or do you have any advice as to what I should check? Thanks for any input. P.S. a local repair shop tells me this is normal!

This is not normal. Depending on what type of oil you are using, try somthing thicker. DON`T use transmission fluid. Also, some POULANS have an adjustment screw in front(depending on the MDL) I would suggest you take off the bar/chain,clean that area, you will see a small metal plate held by 2 screws, inside is an oil filter, carfully take it off and see if the filter has disintergrated. If not clean the filter, put it back together, fill it with oil(at least 30/W motor oil)sit it on a piece of clean cardboard(without the bar/chain) and see what happens. mk.farnam@gateway.net
