Gday folks,

I've got an old Greenfield Evolution III 32 deluxe, about 20 years old going by the date code on the motor, & I want to remove & replace the top drive sprocket, but it won't come off...

What's the best way to remove these? I've undone the retaining bolt, & can see that it's got a keyway on the shaft, there doesn't appear to be a grubscrew on it, but it's jammed on pretty hard. Do i need to go buy a puller for this, or am I missing something obvious?

thanks,

tim.

You'll find that it's seized on (with rust). First thing is to penetrate the rust
Try some rust buster, 50/50 Tranny fluid & Acetone mix (thx to ODK for that info)or buy some from an auto store or Bunnings...
Can try heating the sprocket and tapping it with a small sledgie Or combine the two methods BUT ya can't beat a good Puller (hehe)
I use this.. works well for me.

cool thanks, thought it might be something like that. I've given it a hit with acetone/transmission fluid (a couple actually), so I'll see if i can get things moving on the weekend.

Cheers,

Tim.
