Hi guys, I thought I'd throw it out there to ask what sort of watering systems (inground) everyone uses for their lawns? Do many have automated / electronic systems, if so which ones and what are the pros/cons of these?
Cheers.

Hi Oaky,
Im a landscape gardener in Adelaide. Ive used many different pop up sprayers over the years, but the Hunter MP Rotator seems to be the best. The heads are expensive $16 each, but they are vastly superior to fan sprays. They use less water and it is delivered in a jet which works extremely well even in windy conditions, no misting. You can also get more a a single line. Automation is definately the way to go. Hope this helps. Llew

G'day Llew and Oakie
This is a great topic!

From my perspective, I have always been interested in sprinklers.
I own a 1950's Pope Rain Mist. A beauty!

It is rewarding for members to hear experts' opinions.
I Pope hope we get responses from users and experts, as I am quite the novice on this.

Hi guys.

I also use the MP Rotators. As they use less water you don't need massive amounts of pressure to run multiple sprinklers. I run 8 at the back on 50m2 on one zone and 10 at the front on 60m2 on another zone. I have used them with new rollout lawn and to establish a new lawn from seed. Works perfect for both. I do use an old Richdel automatic irrigation system which is fantastic as I can "set and forget" in summer and water at the peak time for my lawn, which I find to be around the 4:30am time for me.
