Does anyone have any idea where to find information about the value of this saw?

Hi,

I am a collector and restorer of old and unusual chainsaws. To give you an approximate value, I must know the model number, because, as with anything else, some saws are more common than others. If you could provide me with a model number I will be happy to give you my opinion. Most all Mall's had a metal tag which listed the model number.

I also own a Mall 2-man chainsaw and am unsure of the value. My saw is a Model 7, the serial no. is 381788. Also has a assembly no. 84 28750A and a transmission no. 26800G. I know the Mall Tool Company basically is out of business, through corporate mergers to Remington Arms and DESA. I estimate my saw was built in the late 1940's early 1950's. Is there any one out there that could provide either an original (or copy of) an operating/service/repair manual? Also, does anyone have any old spare parts? Whatever happened to the old spare parts inventories and company patterns? I found a post on the Tree Climber's disscussion board regarding a Garrett Logistics in Chester, CA but the post was old (2/3 years) and I have had no luck in locating them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (By the way, my saw still runs and cuts lumber) Thanks, Grant
