A few months ago I got an opportunity to purchase a Victa Viceroy model 517.So naturally I did,I mean why wouldn't you.It isn't in the greatest condition but considering their rare it's not like one can pick and choose.There is going to be a huge amount of work I need to do to the engine as it appears it got a fair amount of water in it.Also it doesn't turn over to well.The base itself is in great condition all the metal plates underneath are all there and not rusted at all.
It also came with it's original catcher and all of the other accessory's that they came out with.
She unfortunately was missing the carby and air cleaner.The air cleaner is going to be especially hard to find another one.Also she didn't have any starter either.

That's the style air filter assembly the Viceroy ran.That is the same for both the Model 505 & 517.
I will at some point put a wanted add up as well as ask now.If anybody has one that needs a new home let me know please.
All in all I was very happy with this rare find.There is certainly enough to do a restore and bring her back to life.

Let me know what starter you need, is it the release on push down or release by a lever type? I may be able to score one for you as I go through the stockpile. Also what carby does it need? There is probably one laying around, I think there is a brand new catcher for one as well. Do you have the fuel tank?

Oh snap now I've had a look at what it is suppose to have on it,I've realized I don't have everything I need.
What I don't have is...
Starter is as pictured.

...and no I don't have this one,possibly don't have the cup either.
I've put this picture of the engine up as I don't have a complete muffler for this.



These 3 parts are what I'm missing from the muffler,so I guess if I could obtain another muffler that would be good.
The carby is a 3F the same as what the model 5's had.I'm 99.9% sure I would have one of those.Also the fuel tank is the same as what a lot of the utility's had and yes I think I have a spare one of those somewhere.Maybe a fuel tap short though.
