Your best bet, if you need edger-specific parts, is to keep an eye out on Gumtree/eBay for a donor machine. And on nature strips, if your area has hard rubbish pickups.
Which model is it - there have been a few, from the full-crank Tilt-a-cuts onwards.

There's a mower shop closing down in Reservoir. Ph owner Dennis on 0418101836 . He has it advertised on Gumtree. He might have what you are after. Also if you could post a photo some people may have one in their backyard. A photo would prompt people's memory of what they have!
Mate the gumtree was a dead end. The bloke won't even answer his phone. Tried his number 3 days now and left a text message saying I want buy things. But no reply. Obviously his ad is a lie and he doesn't want to sell anything.
