the decline of the lawn. Australian author Peter Timms' book titled
Australia's Quarter Acre [ ISBN10 0522851851] is a great read if you are
interested in the history of lawns and gardening.

In Part Two I attach one chapter dealing with the topic of this post:
The Decline of the Lawn. The chapter explores the history of the lawn and
it covers all sorts of topics: How lawns used to be mowed (if you were
wealthy); Budding's patent; Evolution of the lawnmower; Types of grasses;
Mervyn Richardson and his Victa; The electric Flymo and others; Lawn and Art.
It is a great and provocative read.
