I broke the trigger lockout switch on the Stihl FS 38 and after replacing it I can't get it to start, it will fire but won't run.

When I pull the starter rope it seems much harder to pull than before, so I am wondering when I replaced the shaft tube into the handle if it is not sitting properly and if this could be what is causing it to fire but not to continue running.

Does any one have an exploded pic of how it fits back into the handle.

Hi Buckets,

Do you even Google? I did a super quick search on for a parts breakdown for your Stihl FS38. The 3rd link down is a pdf for your model. smile

Here is the link... https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&...p;usg=AFQjCNEhAF43P3Tt7nLUBgmEZMNqkyU4Qw

What did you take apart exactly? When you start the trimmer does it stay on or cut out quickly? Is your trimmer a very new model because it is strange for the trigger to break so soon?

Maybe you didn't push the square end of the flexible drive shaft all the way into the clutch bell housing??? I really don't know, but that'll be my guess for now...
