Hi,
I bought a Victa Imperial 20 a few months ago, all has been working well. However, the clutch cable broke last week and wondered where I could find a replacement cable and is it relatively easy to install.

I was also considering getting a simple service done on the mower and whether there were any suggestions on repairers of these old machines in Perth.

Any advice/information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello tonya

Welcome to these forums.
I'm hoping Engineer Gadge or a member will be able to point you in the right
direction for making a new clutch cable. If you have the ends, then soldering
them to new stock should not be difficult. I'm not aware of any old stock cables
for the Imperial.

I attach the adjustment procedure.

Hope this helps.

G'day tonya,
Welcome to the ODK forums.

It seems that there is one type of clutch cable still available for the Imperials. The ODK Shop has it HERE

It will be necessary to check that the inner/outer lengths and end fittings are the same as your old cable, before ordering.

Cheers,
Gadge

Hi Gadge

That's brilliant!
It's REO6319 - listed in my books as suiting the 20" & 24" models.

Thanks Gadge, I plan to have a closer look over the weekend and see if soldering is an option. TonyA

Tony,
Repair parts for Bowden cables are available, as the vintage motorcycle fraternity have to make up replacement control cables, re-using their old terminal hardware in most cases.

There are businesses around that provide this service, but I doubt that'd be any cheaper than the RE06319.

Let us know if you want to chase up sources.

Cheers,
Gadge
