Hi, I bought a Victa Imperial 20 a few months ago, all has been working well. However, the clutch cable broke last week and wondered where I could find a replacement cable and is it relatively easy to install.
I was also considering getting a simple service done on the mower and whether there were any suggestions on repairers of these old machines in Perth.
Welcome to these forums. I'm hoping Engineer Gadge or a member will be able to point you in the right direction for making a new clutch cable. If you have the ends, then soldering them to new stock should not be difficult. I'm not aware of any old stock cables for the Imperial.
Tony, Repair parts for Bowden cables are available, as the vintage motorcycle fraternity have to make up replacement control cables, re-using their old terminal hardware in most cases.
There are businesses around that provide this service, but I doubt that'd be any cheaper than the RE06319.
Let us know if you want to chase up sources.
Cheers, Gadge
