Hi all,
this is my latest toy and contraption I put together over the past 8 months with help from youtube.
5.5 hp Honda power plant courtesy from my neighbour , 80 amp mitsubishi alternator from the local weekend markets two wheelchair motors , batteries and electronics of flea bay, 50 bucks worth of steel 200 hrs of sleepless nights and one sore back trying to get it back into the shed after countless unsuccessful trial runs, lol
I will gladly help out with info if anybody wants to attempt a build like this.

The only thing missing is a gun barrel mounted to the Honda "turret" and you'd have the TRG turning up faster than you could say "Bang-bang, you're dead!"

Or yesterday morning as an April Fool you could have driven it up the street to someone's car and when they came out to investigate yelled "There's a bomb! Get back!!!"

But seriously, I'm in awe, wish I could attempt something like that, let alone succeed! How did you manage to make the tracks???

Regarding the tracks, they are made from old quarry conveyoor belts and hardwood timber blocks with ends rounded off in a wood turning lathe.

Brilliant piece of engineering, I can see bigger versions being used by contractors who mow the high slopes on the sides of freeways. Basic but very functional. I can see the need for the big alternator because it has to run the drive motors and the dual pulley on the motor is perfect to use to drive it because it wasn't needed to drive the mower. What did you end up using for the control box setup. 200 hours, I can see every bit of that

Motor controller from the wheelchair was knackered so I gutted the controls and kept the box. Bought a Dimension Sabertooth 2 x 25 amp motor controller anf fitted that inside the box. I had an old fan from a dell computer that came in handy for cooling.

What a great project you have there.
This is not just a remote-controlled mower but one specifically
designed for slopes. It still requires an operator.

I think these mowers still - largely - have a commercial purpose,
but their price is prohibitive for residential use ... so your
building one for this use is of interest.

I do believe that Ransomes (the first mower manufacturer)
pioneered their use in the 1980s. They are jolly expensive though.

I, like Matt, would love to see the video.

That is just fantastic, and the slope is clearly steeper than
the video suggests. It certainly gets the job done quicker than
the old slope mowers...
