No! You have a passion and appreciation.brings back memories from years ago! I too had mowers everywhere just like you.they were my treasured belongings! . After a nasty marriage bust up I returned to pick them up.But...... A week beforehand the ex and her brother did 3 tandem trailer loads to the tip, on purpose! Never mind chainsaw

Recycling and Repairs
Hi seanw.
Is that a Victa 500 twin on a blue deck in the middle of the third row back in the top photo?

I thought the same Bushy. Perhaps Sean can wheel them back to where he had them and take some more pics for us? grin

Yes that's (at least) a Victa 500 cowl if you zoom the photo.

Zoom by either
- the two-finger squeeze/expand on a tablet
- using Firefox on a PC, Ctrl+ (hold down Ctrl and press +) to zoom in, Ctrl- to zoom out and Ctrl0 to reset. Also in View->Zoom menu.

Sean I don't think it's right you leaving a twin out in the elements. I am prepared to house him, along with his mates in my garage. Consider it a community service. grin

what a kind and heartfelt offer slash. but as pete has his own kennel and as he suffers from separation anxiety, he likes to stay close to me. hes not very good at keeping my toes warm in winter though. as for his so called "mates" they are not real freinds they just hang with him cause he is"way cool". I just got the hurricane going and it stopped.

Offers always open mate. I have a pair of twins that could always use a mate. They are resting soundly in a garage. I hate those "hanger oner" mates. I try to keep mine to a minimum.
How does your twin run anyway?

slash. the bloke that gave it to me told me he bought it new and never used it but painted it. he painted everything the same colour.
took it home, the bore looked smooth. so i cleaned the carby. spark plugs. put fuel in it. and away we go
i love this mower out of all the goodones i have.
i start it religiously every wednesday
only ever turned of by fuel tap.
blades faced up
slash this mower is an animal, easy to operate, starts first pull after 3 primes. the catcher is huge.
it sounds that good people come and visit when she mows with it
it is my backup backup backup mower
she just likes using it
how do yours run?

Mine aren't quite in a comparable condition to yours. My first one (green) I acquired many moons ago. I cleaned the carby and after some dicking around (and quality father-son time) we had it running. Problem is, about the only way it runs is full throttle and rough at that. The second (orange) I found at the scrap metal bloke with no wheels but does turn over. I had acquired both before meeting you blokes and reading everything I can find on them. They are resting and waiting their turn.
I did pass up the chance to buy an excellent condition gold one with catcher at a swap meet a few years back. Been kicking myself since. Was only $100-$150 from memory. banghead

Recycling and Repairs
Bugger.... I have a mate, who operates a mower repair shop here, that has been after a Victa 500 for quite a few years. Recently, another mate told me he just threw one out at the local tip, so I went straight out and all I could find was the base and one cylinder in the scrap pile. Recovered those parts and gave it to other mate... He was not happy that it was only a few pieces, but I said at least he had a start. All it needs is a complete engine, wheels, etc..... :-(
