Have a couple husqvarna 122c trimmers i thought would be an easy fix but so far it has been anything but. I believe it's all down to these crappy RUIXING carbs. Cold start and running is bad they vibrate and knock and dont rev well, once warmed up they run ok however 5mins into use it begins to lean out, will just die if you squeeze the throttle quickly, adjusting the mixtures helps but doesnt fix it. there's still plenty of fuel in the tank but it just won't pick it up. stop and add a bit more fuel it goes ok for a bit longer. ive tried endless adjustments, carb cleans, checked the tank breather is ok, fuel filter is ok. sometimes it'll start 2nd pull othertimes it's over 10pulls. sometimes it'll run great othertimes crap i just cant get my head around it. also cant get over how much difference the air filter and cover make, pull them out it literally wont start or run. as it is the high speed mixture screw it almost completely closed. does this sound normal? has anyone had a any success getting these things to run properly, consistently?

thanks

Have you tested the fuel pickup line? They do develop pin holes sometimes especially those molded curly versions. Also check for vacuum or air leaks in the crankcase and the intake.

Just started seeing some of the Ruixings here and I had problems with them operating correctly. I even had one that was a replacement on a Poulan leaf blower that had to the choke butterfly modified to even work right. The original carburetor would not even pickup the fuel and the replacement would flood the engine at start up on the very first hit. I just happen across what was causing the problem.

Havent tested it, but its brand new just had the tank and lines replaced under warranty as the tank was split. Hadn't thought about crankcase seal cheers. Why they would use anything other than a walbro or zama is beyond me. Might also check spark when it begins to play up.

Husqvarna is just any other manufactures, it all about reducing costs. Since they own Poulan products to me it only a matter time before the Chinese Ruixing were using there made it into the main stream products.

I having similar problems wherever I order replacement carburetors for Briggs now. Several of new ones have been Ruixing instead of the Walbro that came with the engines.

The overall quality that I was use to is now becoming a thing of the past.

Wait till they start getting parts made in India, and then you will get to see what poor quality really is

1 of the carbs i stripped down had a hole in the body which did not even line up with the hole in the gasket but on the other it did fine, also some other holes were very restricted by casting dags, i tidied them up best i could. If it werent for the unique airfilter/choke setup i'd bin them.

Well found the bloody problem, started first pull ran great after a minute or two did it's usual bog down, too lean then stall. Now i probably should have mentioned it was ok on a full tank but even at 3/4 tank it would begin to happen. Anyways i was watching the primer bulb, it would slowly fill up with bubbles then engine would stall. watching the lines as i pushed the primer it hit me, the bloody fuel is being sucked up the return line and pushing out the supply. the fuel tank and with lines were replaced under warranty because the tank leaked but im positive the lines were this way before, and the other one i have is setup exactly the same! Swapped the lines over, slight retune ran flawlessly for 10mins on 1/4 tank.

Good find, always hard to pick something like that when you expect the people doing the repair would know what they are doing. They obviously just started it up, it runs, job done. We all get caught out with things over time, easy mistake
