Picked up this Victa Special recently. 1972 model. Has unusual side mount catcher. Really good condition for age. Runs like a new one and absolutely powered through thick grass which hasn't been mowed for months. Great mower, really happy with it. Even came with original owners manual. Really nice couple who sold it to me said that it was their wedding present. I think in the end they were a bit sad to see it go. Had to re-assure them that it was going to a good home!

That mower's condition is amazing for something that's 44 years old. Great pickup!

Hi all Contributors

This one has had a restoration at some point.
It's certainly not the green I know from the New Specials.
Also, the 'Victa' logo was painted a different colour.

Having said that, it is not common to find them with the
optional catcher, a design dating back a decade!

Congratulations mowermechanic.
Victa finally made a great - and safe - utility mower with this one.

Thanks everyone for the interest and replies. Yes previous owner told me that they had painted it. Might try to bring it back to it's original factory colour at some stage. Still very happy with the condition of the mower. Motor looks like new and no rust. Something unusual for mowers of this age!
Cheers.
