OK, Jeffery, What Jonno has there for you is a 75-76 VC-Mustang Gen 3, with a MKIV Series 70 Engine.

The carby is backwards, with remote prime, and the unit is complete, with original catcher.

The second would be as above, but could be either Gen 2 or 3, depending on wether it has the remote primer (I recall Jonno mentioning it did not, that ould make it a 74-75 Gen 2)

Also, if you look at the first one, it has the cap on the airfilter you want for your twin.

Cheers
Ty

geez mate, you know your mowers!

both came with remote prime but the second primer bulb is/was shot (one of the reasons i actually got the second one was for the primer bulb + catcher) i think the second mower (spare) also has the same cap for the twin.

If it's the same model it's quite likely, they ran that cap on some of the earliest G4's!

The remote primer ones are good to get hold of, of the 3 faces for the G4, its the trickier one to get!

Cheers
Ty

Hey Blumbly, Ty, I picked up 2 VC160s today from the original owner as he was moving into a retirment unit! Paid a good price to the old guy for them but they are all original and running with the G3 carb and original catchers (1 has the optional metal chute too). Both are the white cowl VC 160 badge from early? 70s..will get photos tomorrow if ya like. As I'm not really into the VCs I thought you may like to swap for a running Victa something..let me know if interested.

I'll let Jeffery at them first, but if he is only after one, I'd be happy to trade something for the other.

What would interest you? (My collection is in the photo gallery, there are a few i cant part with, and if you read the comments you will find more mower photo's, and a list of what is now gone. i also have more in the 'fast way to free mowers' thread in the off topics section)

Otherwise, just give me an idea what you like, and i will see what i can do.

Photo's would be great!

Cheers
Ty

Ok will get some pics up tomorrow.
Im keen on the old wind up 2 stroke victas (cortina, corvette)or the more recent 'flat top' victa commandos - like the green base with the white top one you just picked up (pic in the 'fast way' thread) - they seem pretty common but unkillable I think! cheers2

Well, i happen to have that white one available, and i have 2 of these cortina's:

I would like to keep one cortina, but the other is also up for grabs.

So if Jeffery only wants one mustang, take your pick!

Cheers
Ty

Sorry VictorVicta I only have one wind up 2 stroke or impulse starter mower which is a Cortina 2 with steel catcher.Which I was kind of hoping to restore.I suppose it would depend on what model VC and condition as well to whether I would swap it or not.I'll wait until you put some pictures up.

The bottom one was the day to day mower and starts 1st or 2nd pull..has the green catcher and the green chute. The VC badge is damaged on this one but the cowl is good. The first one was the 'spare' with the black 'spare' catcher. It turns over with good compression but the guy removed the fuel line from the tank to the carb to store it..but he reckons it ran fine..Ill hook it up and test it one day but it seems all ok.The cowl and badge on this one are very good. PM me you number if interested and we can go from there..Ill call this week when i get a chance.
